My name is Ijeoma Mbaneme (Winnie), and I know this pain because I lived it. I graduated as the Best Student in my entire Faculty of Engineering (First Class). I had the certifications. I had the years of experience. I had the results. On paper, I was more than qualified. But when it came to landing sponsored roles abroad? Nothing was working.
Recruiters weren't replying. I watched people with less experience get interviews I should have been getting. I tried the “safe” routes that just delayed my progress. I paid people who couldn't deliver. I had a family depending on me. Failure wasn't an option.
So I stopped applying randomly and started studying how sponsored hiring actually works: how recruiters make decisions, what makes a candidate feel “safe” to sponsor, and how to position years of experience as a business-critical solution.
Once I understood that? Everything shifted. Recruiters started reaching out to me. Interviews turned into conversations. Offers came, and I relocated with my family, legally, confidently, without agents, without going back to school, without shortcuts.
Today, I have been recognised as one of Nigeria's Top 100 Career Women and received back-to-back Gender Mainstreaming Awards (Accenture-supported, 2022 & 2023). I am a Senior Microsoft Cloud and Security Architect with 15+ years of international experience across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
💡 What I realised along the way was that nobody was teaching professionals how to build the credibility and visibility needed to land a sponsored role. Not the CV tips. Not the LinkedIn advice. The actual system: how to be seen as a low-risk, high-value hire by an international employer willing to sponsor you. I started teaching this privately, and the results spoke for themselves.
